Environmentally Friendly Products

The majority of Little Kids Co. wooden toys are made from rubber-wood. Rubber-wood is obtained as a by-product from the culling of the rubber tree. The bark of the tree contains a substance called latex - which is used to produce everyday objects including shoe soles and car tyres.

After approximately 25 years, the trees can no longer produce enough latex to be commercially viable and would simply need to be replanted with new growth.

Nowadays, with more emphasis being placed on sustainable wood and environmental concerns, they are being recycled and new trees planted in their place - thus ensuring deforestation is never an issue. Not only is rubber-wood used to make toys and furniture but waste is reused and recycled and can be used in the making of particleboard for the furniture industry, fuel-cubes for traditional cooking, mushroom cultivation material and incense-stick production
